Day 57 - February 25th - Anna Maria Island, Hiking Day Little Manatee River State Park

It was certainly an interesting day yesterday and thankfully the storm system has passed and the weather is really cool and breezy. We took a long hike in the park and enjoyed the weather.

We took a ride to Anna Maria Island. We have been there before and thought it was very nice so decided to go back for a visit.

We arrived around 3 pm and the place was mobbed. The last time we were here in 2011 it was also very "cold" but empty.

Driving around we spotted a motel that was highlighted on 48 hours on Friday night. It was weird to see the place after watching the show. Things did not end well there.

We stopped to sit on the beach. A little chilly and a lot windy but it was beach! LOL

We walked on the pier and decided to eat at the restaurant at the end of the pier.   While waiting for our meal we noticed the pier was moving quite a bit. HMMM! The pier and restaurant are pretty old and not in great repair.

My salmon was excellent as was Ron's Crab Cakes. After dinner we headed back to the CG.

The traffic was really bad and we were being tailgated by someone with a bong fire in his car. The smoke coming out of the vehicle was amazing. The guy would slow to almost a stop - holding up traffic and then speed up to our bumper. We think he was a little high!!!!

It was a nice day for us and beautiful on Anna Maria Island.
