Day 35 - February 2 - Last Day at Cedar Key - Day 36 - 2/3/16 Drive to Ja Mar North RV Resort - Day 37 - 2/4/16 Rainy Day in Port Richey

Day 35 -  February 2, 2016  -  Last Day at Cedar Key RV Resort

Ron and I discussed several options for today but then just sat in the sun, talked to several neighbors and walked  a whole lot. Not much going on since we arrived but we have enjoyed the great weather.

Day 36 -  February 3, 2016 Driving to Ja Mar RV Resort, Port Richey, Florida

We decided we might like to stay for a few more days here in Cedar Key so I went to the office to check for the possibility of an extension. Nope, our site is booked as is every other site in the CG. So we packed up and left for Ja Mar.

The park we are going is mostly permanent trailers and some RV sites. It received rave reviews and is reasonably priced. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The park is immaculate and beautifully maintained. We were greeted by two very enthusiastic and cheerful people wishing us a very pleasant stay.

We drove to our site and were again surprised at how small the concrete pad is. Ron did some fancy maneuvering  and once parked on the cement pad a young man drove up and informed us that we were to park on the grass not on the pad - complete opposite from Cedar Key. We laughed but felt pretty silly. Ron moved the RV and the guy said that if Ron  could get the RV on that pad he could do anything. LOL

The temp was record setting at 85 degrees with the humidity 72 %.  It is blasted hot and humid. I can do heat but not humidity so needless to say I was drenched by the time we got set up. NOT a pretty site.

We had to replenish our staples but decided to wait until evening to buy groceries so we sat out and read. Everyone here is very friendly and stopped to talk.

Jewel is not too happy because this place is not very dog friendly so her walking area is very limited. She cannot understand why she can't walk down the big long streets but the signs clearly state no dogs beyond a certain point. We are in the dog section of the park and have been in parks like this before. Not fun for poor Jewel who would walk until she drops.

Day 37 - February 4, 2016

We had planned to go to Weeki Wachee today but the weather forecast calls for torrential rains. Since all the activities are outside we opted to hang  around the resort.

We stopped in the clubhouse to look around and once again we were greeted by very friendly people who were happy to provide us with info on the park. We then purchased our tickets to the  french toast breakfast on Friday morning. We have been told it is not to be missed.

We walked the entire park (without Jewel - Boo!). The other end of the park is newer and much brighter. There are 353 sites here most permanent park model homes. They are fairly close together but all beautifully maintained. We have been to several very nice resorts but have never experienced this much  friendliness. People were stopping their cars to pass the time of day and everyone is smiling. Makes for a very pleasant stay.

The weather deteriorated quickly by 2 pm and we experienced torrential downpours lasting until  7 pm. It is now 63  degrees and the humidity is negligible - so very comfortable. Tomorrow we will get out and do  something  - but not sure what.
