Well the holidays are over, the snow has melted and we are packed and ready to hit the the road. We actually got out early this morning,(9:45 am) for us anyway.
Yesterday's Snow! |
The day is overcast and chilly compared to what we have been experiencing. We hoped that leaving early we might be able to avoid the traffic but that didn’t happen. It has been wall to wall traffic since we got into RI. Connecticut has been even worse and it has been stop and go all the way.
It took over one hour to drive the last five miles to the GW Bridge. Ron decided we would take I - 81 instead of staying on the grossly congested I-95.
We finally stopped at a Pilot Truck Stop in NJ after a grueling 6.5 hours that only got us a little over 200 miles from home. It was very difficult to even find the place given the dense fog, poor signage and remote location.
We finally arrived and it was a little scary but we opted to stay anyway.
