Day 7 - January 5, 2016 - Fort Pickens CG

Today we decided we needed to do some  planning for the next two weeks. With gas prices so low there are a lot more RV's on the road so fewer CG spaces available, especially for larger MH's.

We are definitely  going to extend here and after a lot of research managed to secure a site at Saint Andrews State Park for the week of the 17th. They had one site  big enough to accommodate our MH so we booked it. 

Just before lunch we stopped at the office to secure a spot here for next week. We were unable to stay in the same site so will have to move on the 10th to site 57. Not a problem because we will have to dump our holding tanks anyway. No sewer hook-up here so have to be water misers. The facilities here are very nice and kept very clean so not a problem with the public showers.

We took a ride into Gulf Breeze today to check out a small house that looked promising only to find it was in a very run down, poorly maintained neighborhood. Too bad because it's really cute with tons of potential and a great price ($84,000).

We're still not sure what we want to do. Keep traveling in the MH or find a small place down here for winter. So many choices and decisions. 

We stopped at Whataburger for lunch. The burgers were delicious and the service great. Good choice Ron.

On the beach we enjoyed the white sand, waves and sun. Despite being only 54 degrees the sun made it feel very warm.

Jewel was happy we were back home and gave us her usual resounding welcome running back and forth between us. 

We spent the rest of the day sitting in the sun. Ron mentioned something about  time -zones. HMMM - are we in a different time zone. DUH - yes we are. It dawned on us that in Pensacola we are actually in Central time. That explains the longer daylight hours. Once we changed our clocks it got darker much earlier. LOL 

It was a great day overall and we are looking forward to the remainder of our stay here.  ORRRRR - we will go nuts staying in the same place for so long. Time will tell!!!
